This photo was selected for the 2010 Nature Visions show. I photographed this water lily at the National Zoo in Washington DC. The backlighting made it look like a flame, so I called it Fire Lily.

Selected for the 2010 Mid Atlantic Nature Photography Expo (Nature Visions.) This image was also a winner in the October 2010 photo competition of the Northern Virginia Photographic Society. The three ring-tailed lemurs were photographed at the National Zoo in Washington DC.

This image was selected for the 2010 FotoWeekDC Meadowlark Gallery Show,“Capturing Nature in Photographs.” This will be one of 25 images featured in the juried show. It will be on display at Meadowlark Gardens during November 2010. While Sakura is a variety of cherry tree, it is also sometimes used to describe something very beautiful and fleeting, such as these Cherry Blossoms.

Beach Rose was a beautiful backlit rose, seen near Newport Beach, California. It was selected for the 2006 Meadowlark Nature Photo Expo.

This Brood X cicada is touching its empty shell as it prepares to move on to the next stage of life. This photo was selected for the 2006 Meadowlark Nature Photo Expo and was selected by Kodak as their sponsor's choice from that expo.
